The World Affairs Council of Harrisburg hosts Annual International Poetry & Storytelling Competition and Gala Event and dinner.
On Martin Luther King Day we invite you to join us in celebrating peacemaking, non-violent efforts for change, selfless acts of heroism, tolerance and appreciation for diversity, highlights of people coming together to resolve differences, and social justice locally, nationally, and/or internationally.
The winners of the poetry and storytelling competition for high school students will be announced and will share their works with the public.
Special guest - Nigerian Art Ambassador Ibiyinka Olufemi Alao - an artist who recently represented his country and became the first place winner of the prestigious United Nations International Art Competition amongst 61 countries. Ibiyinka's paintings speak volumes and the impact of his works has received worldwide recognition.
