Join us Saturday, September 21 from 10:00am - 4:00pm at Elizabethtown College (Room 110 Hoover Building) for our annual International Peace Symposium. The year’s theme is Avoiding Armageddon: Paths to Peace at Home and Abroad. This full day event will feature expert speakers & panelists on peace at home and abroad.

We will also recognize this year’s Peacemaker In Our Midst Awardees, celebrating individuals & organizations who have made outstanding contributions to peace in our communities. Their dedication and achievements will inspire us all to continue striving for a more peaceful world.

Lunch is provided with your ticket.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Colonel Chase Metcalf: An active-duty Army Strategist and Faculty Instructor at the U.S. Army War College.
  • Rich Harwood: President and Founder of The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation.

Panelists:

  • Chad Dion Lassiter: Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and a nationally recognized expert in American Race Relations.
  • David Commins: Professor at Dickinson College specializing in modern Middle Eastern history.
  • Dr. Cristina E. Ciocirlan: Professor at Elizabethtown College and a U.S. Fulbright Scholar with a focus on environmental psychology, diversity, inclusion, and equity in organizations.
  • Dr. Najiba Benabess: Dean of the School of Business at Elizabethtown College.
